In just 6.5 months, the underwater theme attracted around 670,000 visitors to the Gasometer Oberhausen. More than ever before in such a period!
If you haven't been there yet, or would like to come again, you can still dive into the depths of the ocean until November 30, 2025. There's much to discover: large-format underwater photographs, films, the skeleton of a bottlenose whale, corals, and three very special highlights: a sound installation was developed especially for the exhibition, allowing visitors to hear "sounds of the deep" such as the cracking of coral. There's also an interactive globe that illustrates the latest findings from the world's oceans. And, of course, "The Wave" – a 40-meter-high screen where you can encounter jellyfish, schools of fish, and even a real life-size whale.
